1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:
- "Cordiel", "we", "us", "our" refers to Cordiel, operating at 30 Cecil Street, #19-08, Prudential Tower, Singapore 049712.
- "Programme" refers to any reading workshop, reading series, or reading circle offered by Cordiel.
- "Participant" or "User" refers to any individual who enquires about, enrols in, or attends a Cordiel programme.
- "Materials" refers to printed readers, glossaries, vocabulary cards, scenario cards, and notebooks provided as part of a programme.
- "Agreement" refers to these Terms and Conditions, together with any enrolment confirmation issued by Cordiel.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enquiry or enrolment request, or by attending a Cordiel programme, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
3. Programme Description
Cordiel offers reading-led educational programmes for adults. Sessions are facilitated as reading discussions and are strictly educational in scope. Cordiel does not provide financial advice, regulated financial planning services, legal advice, or any other regulated advisory activity. Nothing presented or discussed in any Cordiel programme constitutes a recommendation to take any financial action.
Programmes are offered in-person at our Singapore premises. Availability is subject to cohort capacity. Cordiel reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a session in exceptional circumstances, with reasonable notice provided to enrolled participants.
4. Enrolment
Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of payment in full. Cordiel will issue a written enrolment confirmation by email. A place in a cohort is reserved only upon confirmation of payment. If a programme is fully enrolled, Cordiel may place you on a waiting list for the next available cohort.
Minimum Age
Cordiel programmes are designed for adults aged 40 and above. Participants under 40 may enquire; enrolment is at Cordiel's discretion.
5. Participant Conduct
Participants are expected to engage respectfully with other cohort members and with facilitators. Cordiel reserves the right to remove any participant from a session — without refund — if their conduct is disruptive, offensive, or inconsistent with the educational nature of the programme.
Participants must not record sessions (audio or video) without the prior written consent of Cordiel and all other participants in the session.
6. Intellectual Property
All reading materials, readers, glossaries, vocabulary cards, scenario cards, worksheets, and other written content provided by Cordiel are the intellectual property of Cordiel. Materials are provided for personal, non-commercial use by the enrolled participant only.
Participants may not reproduce, distribute, share, or publicly display Cordiel materials without written permission. Photocopying pages for personal annotation is permitted.
7. Payment Terms
All programme fees are quoted in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and include printed materials. Payment is due in full before the programme commences. Accepted payment methods include bank transfer and PayNow.
Cancellation and Refunds
- Cancellation more than 14 days before the programme start date: full refund, minus a S$20 administrative fee.
- Cancellation 7–14 days before the programme start date: 50% refund.
- Cancellation fewer than 7 days before the programme start date: no refund. Participants may, at Cordiel's discretion, transfer their enrolment to the next available cohort of the same programme.
- If Cordiel cancels or postpones a programme, a full refund will be issued or an alternative session offered.
8. Programme-Specific Terms
Attendance
Attendance at sessions is the participant's responsibility. No partial refunds are given for missed sessions. In the case of the Long-Term Planning Reading Workshop, participants who miss one day of the two-day workshop may be offered access to the follow-up reflection circle at Cordiel's discretion.
Materials
All printed materials are provided at the first session of each programme. Materials are not replaceable in the event of loss after distribution.
Educational Scope
Cordiel programmes are educational reading programmes only. Participation does not lead to a formal qualification, certificate, or any credential with regulatory standing. Participants seeking professional financial or legal advice should consult appropriately qualified practitioners.
9. Disclaimers
Cordiel's programmes are provided on an "as is" educational basis. While we take care to ensure the accuracy of reading materials, we do not warrant that all content is free from error. Reading materials reflect publicly available vocabulary and documentation structures and should not be relied upon as professional or regulatory guidance.
Cordiel does not provide financial advice. Nothing in any programme session or in any written material constitutes a recommendation to take any financial, legal, or other regulated action. Participants who act on information encountered in Cordiel programmes do so entirely at their own discretion and risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, Cordiel's total liability to any participant in connection with a programme is limited to the fee paid for that programme. Cordiel is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from participation in, or reliance on the content of, any Cordiel programme.
Cordiel is not liable for events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to venue closure, natural events, or public health measures affecting in-person gatherings.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cordiel, its facilitators, and its staff from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, your conduct during a programme, or your misuse of Cordiel materials.
12. Termination
Cordiel may cancel a participant's enrolment, with written notice, if these Terms are breached. In such cases, a pro-rated refund may be considered at Cordiel's discretion. Sections 6, 9, 10, and 13 of these Terms survive termination.
13. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. In the event of a dispute, both parties agree first to attempt resolution in good faith through direct communication. If unresolved, the parties may submit to mediation through the Singapore Mediation Centre before pursuing formal legal proceedings. The courts of Singapore have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms.
14. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the enrolment confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between Cordiel and the participant.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- Waiver: Failure by Cordiel to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: Participants may not assign their enrolment or rights under these Terms without Cordiel's written consent.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. For participants already enrolled in a programme, material changes will be communicated by email. Continued participation following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
